A Journey Back in Time

Koper takes you on a journey; in the Old City you will find narrow alleyways dotted with cafés and restaurants, and wonderful discoveries along the way. The center of the Old City is concentrated around Tito Square, an austere piazza surrounded by ancient palaces. If you go to the top of the Bell Tower (entrance is free-of-charge) you will have an exceptionally impressive panoramic view of the city.

It is also recommended to visit the Praetorian Palace, a 15th century Venetian Gothic palace which now houses the Koper Town Hall; and the beautiful Loggia Palace in the city. You can take a photograph next to the wonderful fountain in Koper, the Fontana Da Ponte; or walk around the Muda Gate, a 16th century triumphal arch leading to the inner part of Koper, which is known for its heraldic decorations and impressive carvings. If you fancy a breath of fresh air, and you love nature and the outdoors, don’t miss the beautiful Vintgar Gorge waterfall in Koper.

Koper is an enchanting place to spend a fun day out in Slovenia, a port city with a great many delightful places to visit.
