The beautiful city of Constanța awaits you in the heart of the Romanian Riviera, situated amongst the enchanting resorts in this area. In this picturesque port city you will find a wealth of archaeological treasures, historical monuments, magnificent casino palaces, museums, fine outdoor dining under the stars and cabaret-style night clubs – all set against the backdrop of the stunning Black Sea coastline.

Start your visit in the Roman ‘mosaic city’, a huge and impressive complex that once connected the port and the old city, and which spreads over a number terraces with a series of spaces that were used for storage and workshops. Today collections that were found here are on display, such as tiles, figurines and lamps. Continue walking alongside the historic casino which symbolizes 130-years of the city's splendor. For example, in 1914 the casino hosted the Russian imperial family to an unforgettable Royal Gala, as well as many other events for the European elite which took place in the building, which is considered to be an architectural masterpiece.

During your walking tour of the city do not miss the Genovese lighthouse, which is a powerful architectural monument made of rough stone with a metal dome; the Fantasio theater in a beautiful building featuring elements of neoclassical architecture which focuses on subjects of mythology; St. Peter & Paul Orthodox Cathedral which is filled with ancient icons and magnificent neo-Byzantine frescoes combined with Romanian elements.

If you are looking for interesting museums you can explore the Museum of Art featuring works by contemporary Romanian artists – from ceramic and porcelain objects through to paintings and sculptures; the Folk Art Museum illustrating Romanian traditions through costumes, jewelry and the interior design of the peasants’ homes. The Archaeological Museum is also recommended with its collection of Greek and Roman objects; and the Romanian Navy Museum which has on display models of ancient and modern ships; and one of the best features of this museum is its amazing panoramic view towards the harbor!

The marine experience is an integral part of the visit to Constanța and there are two sites which reflect this perfectly: the Aquarium which is situated on the coast and which has over 100 species of fish and marine organisms belonging to different geographic areas, such as starfish, seahorses, freshwater fish; and the Dolphinarium, which presents performances of sea lions and dolphins. There is also the huge water park – Aqua Magic Park – that has a variety of slides and pools, in an exciting adrenaline-pumped atmosphere, and a special challenges park known as Gravity Park – the largest extreme sports park in Romania – which has skating routes, skateboarding, bicycles, climbing walls and more.

Another attraction considered a favorite with families is the Planetarium, which has a fascinating exhibition explaining the structure of the universe as well as a display of telescopes, and performances that incorporate the use of special effects to illustrate the wonders of the galaxy.

People who enjoy shopping will surely be happy to find a number of fashionable shopping malls in the city, the largest of which is the Maritimo Shopping Center which contains an excellent selection of leading international brands. In terms of entertainment, Constanța  has a variety of beach clubs with good music and top DJs who keep the large parties going until dawn, stylish bars and restaurants that specialize primarily in fresh fish and seafood. There are also two leading casinos: ‘Queen Casino’ with its has slot machines and table games such as American roulette, blackjack and poker, and ‘Casino Paris’ where you will be able to play Texas Hold'em, Roulette, Blackjack, and which has a well-stocked bar serving alcoholic drinks.
